Ali, son of Abi Taleb, the first Imam of the Shi’as, is struck by Ibn Muljam, a dissident. On his deathbed he orders his descendents:
“O children of Abdel Mottaleb! Know that, in retaliation for my assassination, no one, except the murderer, should die.”
20 October 1941:
Karl Hotz, Feldkommandant of the Feldgericht of Nantes (France), was assassinated by a communist commando of the French resistance. Hitler was informed and ordered the execution of 100 hostages immediately. The military commander of France decided that only 50 would be executed.
21 October 1941:
In a public notice, Otto von Stulpnagel declares: “Given the gravity of the crime, 50 hostages will be executed before the 23rd of October, if the culprits are not arrested.”
22 October 1941:
The Nazis execute 48 prisoners in retaliation for the assassination of Karl Hotz.
25 October 2013:
Several border guards are killed in an armed confrontation with a rebel group in Iranian Baluchistan.
26 October 2013:
16 political prisoners detained in Zahedan Prison are executed.
26 October 2013:
The revolutionary prosecutor of Zahedan, Mohammad Marzieh, states: “These individuals were executed this Saturday morning in response to the terrorist action of last evening at Saravan and the martyrdom of the border guards.”
